A.P. Government

Course Content: AP Government will give students an analytical perspective on government and politics in the United States. The course includes the study of general concepts used to interpret U.S. politics and analysis of specific examples. It also requires knowledge of various institutes, groups, beliefs, and ideas with relationship to United States politics.


In addition, a goal is for students to be prepared to take the national college level Advanced Placement Examination administered in May. Students successfully completing this exam may receive advanced placement and /or credit at many colleges and universities. The 2010 Advanced Placement Examination in Government is in May.
